Firestar's Quest is the well-known special edition book that was written to fill in the gap between the original Warriors series, and The New Prophecy. But this book isn't a filler, no, far from it, actually.
The book tells the story of our original hero, Firestar, and for most of us, it was a breath of fresh air to get away from Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, and Leafpool's P.O.Vs(Point of views).
Firestar keeps receiving signs from a mysterious cat that turns out to be the leader of a forgotten Clan...
Suspense: 8/10. The suspense level was pretty high overall, sometimes peaking to on-the-edge-of-your-seat level(Sandstorm, anyone?).
Action: 7/10. The book wasn't as action-y as other Warriors books, but it had some great fights with a horde of... evil rats?
Romance: 5/10. I'm a sucker for romance(I admit it, shamelessly), but this book didn't have a whole lot, save for a confrontation with Sandstorm, who accuses Firestar of loving Spottedleaf still, and not her... but Firestar's old love life appears to Sandstorm in the cave and sorts it out.
Reveal: 10/10: Like Storm, I hate giving perfect ratings, but the book contained a lot of amazing info that fortunately didn't feel like a filler.
Jaw-drop moments: 7/10: Yeah. There were some definitely jaw-dropping moments. A whole new Clan was unravelled!
Overall score: 8/10. It was a good read, no doubt, but it gave way to a whole new hatred for Firestar. I mean, why isn't anyone else doing the crud that he does? If you don't believe me, go and look at his profile in Secrets of The Clans, and compare it to the other leader's profiles.
Until next time,
Ember
